Here's what a few people are reporting back to us about their adopted Forever Friends!

Nadia - Happy Tales

HAPPY TAILS: Nadia came to the Scituate Animal Shelter as a healthy, playful and stunning dog. With nearly all the qualities of a show dog, this purebred Golden Retriever was looking for a forever home. During the same time, Barbara Nicosia of Hingham, was thinking about adopting a new dog as a companion not only to herself but for her other Golden Retriever named Ginger who loved to explore dog-friendly sites around the South Shore. Her friends who volunteered at the Shelter told Barbara about Nadia becoming a resident and before long, she was visiting with Nadia and getting to know this affectionate and highly adoptable pet. It was love at first sight. After the adoption had been finalized, Nadia was part of Barbara's family and joined them on excursions to Turkey Hill, World's End and Bare Cove Park. Thanks to wonderful animal lovers like Barbara, Nadia has found her forever home.

"When we went to the Scituate shelter last June to find a kitten to fill our empty home, Georgianna melted our hearts. She snuggled right into our arms and looked up at us with those big eyes that said "please take me home". Georgianna entertains us by running through the house at lightning speed chasing her toys, but when she settles down to snuggle on your lap and starts to purr she melts our hearts all over again. You can tell she's happy she came home with us and we're happy too. Thank you for our wonderful furbaby."

The BEGINNING of Fritz's story is a MUST READ...here. Scroll down to see more from Fritz's foster family...

March 6: To everyone at Scituate Animal Shelter....I just wanted to post a quick update on Fritz. He is doing great! He was amazing on the car ride to our house and has quickly made friends with our gsp Chloe. He slept in the crate with no complaints (although he's an early riser - 5:30am!). He loves the beach and is a fantastic quarterback...the kids loved playing football with him. We're working on some of the house manners (counter surfing and peeing on the chairs) but we expected that. Right now he's sitting on a cushy pillow eating the bone you sent with him...happy as can be. Thank you for taking such great care of him...we are loving him to pieces.

March 27: Dear Scituate Animal Shelter - It's been a little under a month since we became Fritz's foster family and we are just in love with him - so much, that we asked to switch from being his foster family to his permanent family. We are excited for it to become official. Thanks again for all you did for him - he is just an amazing dog and we are lucky to have him. - from Facebook

"I adopted my cat Diego from you as a kitten a little less than a year ago. Diego, a beautiful grey, cream, and brown tabby, is my dream cat: He's really wild, really independent, and doesn't take any nonsense from anyone--including our hundred pound golden retriever. But he's also so affectionate, and isn't above following me around now and then asking for a hug. I hope his two sisters were lucky enough to get the kind of home Diego has with us where we, his staff, wait on him hand and foot! Thank you!"
