Established in 1992 through a generous bequest from Eleanor R. Haughey, The Scituate Animal Shelter is an independent, non-profit shelter dedicated to the protection of animals and the advancement of their welfare. The shelter receives no local, state or federal funding and depends solely on private donations to cover its annual operating budget. 

     We provide a wide variety of services including a safe caring environment for stray and unwanted animals, careful placement for all adoptable animals, educational outreach, spay-neuter assistance & feral cat management.

Since 1992, over 4,300 dogs, cats, rabbits, hedgehogs, ferrets, birds, guinea pigs, gerbils and hamsters have benefited from our Shelter’s services and have been

adopted into loving homes.        The Lucky Ones Come to Us!
